Growing up in the Shenandoah Valley, I was surrounded by amazing forests, although  didn't realize the potential they held until early 2022. I stumbled upon a patch of moss along a hiking trail, and once I took a closer look, I knew I was hooked. I became entranced by a whole world right beneath my boots. Next thing I know, I was buying microscopes and field guides, antsy to explore. This blog is the story of my journey through the world of bryology, and uncovering what (many) secrets it holds.
